Titan Poker Team Pro Sam Trickett Wins Prestigious British Poker Award

Following a first place finish at PartyPoker’s World Open and a fourth place finish at EPT Vilamoura, Sam Trickett was selected as Best New Player by his British poker peers.

Titan Poker Team member Sam Trickett was chosen as the Best New Player by his British poker peers and received his award at the inaugural British Poker Awards ceremony at London’s Kensington Close Hotel on September 13. Trickett’s dominance of the European poker circuit has become very apparent with his recent first place finish at PartyPoker’s World Open and a fourth place finish at the EPT Vilamoura in Portugal.

Earlier this month, Trickett took home first prize of $200,000 at PartyPoker’s World Open poker tournament held at the Palm Beach Casino in London. The win came a short time after Trickett finished in 4th Place at the EPT Vilamoura 2010 Main Event tournament in Portugal for a prize of €139,680.

Trickett competed in the World Open and at the EPT Vilamoura on behalf of Titan Poker, the leading online poker room in Europe.

Forty-eight top poker players participated in the $10,000 buy-in World Open tournament, which was staged in a series of heats. According to media reports, “Trickett was phenomenal in his Heat, and equally prolific in the final.” As professional poker commentator Mike Sexton said, “He’s one helluva player, and you’ll be hearing a lot more of Sam Trickett, I can promise you that.”

Trickett dominated most of the Vilamoura poker tournament, the biggest poker event ever held in Portugal, until a run of bad luck at the Final Table left him with a fourth place exit. Team Titan colleague Joel Benzinou finished in 48th place at the same event with a prize of €7,822.

Trickett recently enjoyed huge success at the 2010 World Series of Poker* in Las Vegas, cashing out in at a number of the events. He finished in second place in the $5,000 NL Hold’em Event #17, for a prize of $505,725. With five other cash-outs, he left Vegas with a grand total of $693,827 in prizes.

Along with the other members of Team Titan, Trickett is set for more action on the European poker circuit with participation already confirmed for EPT London 2010 at the end of September.

Online Poker Players Aim to Knock Out Titan Poker’s Professional Team

The Titan Poker bounty tournaments give players a chance to compete against Team Titan members, including Sorel Mizzi, Sam Trickett, Jonas Klausen, and Marvin Rettenmaier.

Online poker players have been given the opportunity to hunt down and knock out the members of Team Titan, the professional poker team of Titanpoker.com in a series of bounty tournaments culminating in Heads Up clashes with the team during the month of November.

Team member Sam Trickett cashes out in six WSOP events for nearly $700,000 in prize money while four of his team members also finish in the money.

Team Titan, the professional poker team of online poker room Titan Poker came on strong at the 2010 World Series of Poker* in Las Vegas, capturing a number of cash prizes in the various poker tournaments of the championship event.

The star performer in the series was team member Sam Trickett from the United Kingdom. Trickett finished in second place, just short of a WSOP* bracelet, in the $5,000 NL Texas Hold’em Event #17, for a prize of $505,725. In addition, Trickett had 5 other cash outs, for a grand total of $693,827.

Trickett’s remarkable performance in Event #17 came two years after he had finished in 4th place in the same event at the 2008 championships, when he took home a prize of $245,927.

Team Titan captain Sorel Mizzi finished in the money this year in Las Vegas in Events #21 and #26, pocketing just over $37,000. Marvin Rettenmaier from Germany cashed out in four events, taking home more than $88,000. Jonas Klausen from Denmark won $8,735 in Event #51, while Yann Brosolo from France cashed out in Events #51 and #56 for over $12,000 in prizes.

Who Will Make the Final 200 in the Titan Poker World Challenge?

Online poker players battling for a $13,000 WSOP* Package are now close to finalizing the second stage of the World Challenge event at Titan Poker. 200 qualifiers will enter the final stage from twelve separate league competitions. The 200 qualifiers then play eight poker tournaments earning league points depending on their finishing position. The top 5 positions on the Final Leaderboard each earn the WSOP* package and the chance to represent their country courteousy of Titan Poker!

On the American leaderboard, "Kimba007" has done very well amassing 123 points while on the UK leaderboard "jmsharkyjm" and "pain43" lead the way with 78 points.

The fourth week of the challenge sees double points up for grabs. Those players who are not near the top of the leaderboards at the moment, can quickly make up ground now that extra points can be earned. We wish all the players the very best of luck in qualifying for the final 200 places in the Titan Poker World Challenge event.
